The Transport for London Explorer Ambassadors (TEA's) were very proud to lead yet another whole school competition in order to continue to encourage more active means of travel, particularly in relation to our Big Walk and Wheel initiative.
We know that it is really important to make sure that we can walk to school as often as possible. Cycling, boarding or scooting are often a more preferred mode of travel for our children, as they prove a little quicker and are enjoyed by many.
The school community were encouraged to think about designing or re-vamping a rucksack that can be used to carry much-needed school essentials (water bottles, reading book and records, fruit-based snacks etc) keeping you safe and hand free!
They were asked to design their own rucksack using a template provided or instead ‘rev up’ (upcycle) an old bag that you may have at home.
The following elements were to be included in the designs:
- Be Bright Be Seen
- Originality
- Practicality
- Links to your school or the Federation
We were thrilled by the number of applications and rucksacks received! Well done, all! A special congratulations to the identified winners, Molly, Rhithusan, Zuzia and Helena.
