TfL Explorer Ambassadors

TfL Explorer Ambassadors is the new scheme introduced through the TfL Travel for Life programme. This programme supports, guides and provides ideas for promoting, encouraging and sharing sustainable travel tips, ideas and activities in order to reduce our carbon footprint and make better informed travel choices.

Our TEA's are actively involved in supporting the school's travel plan, climate action group and working together with the BeDifferent Future and Eco Warriors team. Considered as an integral part of the citizenship curriculum, this role helps to further reduce car congestion around the school and explore ways to improve road safety and air quality. The programme promotes peer-led projects and leadership opportunities for our children.

Our priorities include:

• The implementation of annual 'themed events' that support our Wellbeing Award, Green Flag Award, Travel Plan Gold accreditation and Food for Life initiatives.
• A calendar of events to promote environmentally friendly travel.
• The retention of our Gold accredited School Travel Plan
• The promotion and utilisation of our role as TfL Explorer Ambassador's in increasing the number of children that scoot/cycle/walk to school
• The engagement of the school community in understanding the benefits of being physically active.
• A range of 'active' initiatives to encourage the families to leave their car at home.
