Teacher's Comments

I am pleased to welcome you and your child to the Remarkable Roots class for the upcoming academic year. It is with great enthusiasm that I look forward to embarking on a journey of exploration and learning with your child, ensuring a safe and nurturing learning environment where your child can thrive. I believe that each child has the potential to be the best that they can be and should not be afraid to share their thoughts and ideas. Every child is unique with their own identities and it is my priority to celebrate and foster these individual differences.

Throughout the year, we will be delving into a myriad of new and exciting projects such as the history of the Mayans and Egyptian’s, that will ignite a passion for knowledge within the children. It is our collective goal to foster an environment of respect, where each individual treats others as they would like to be treated. Learning will be a gratifying experience, blending fun, engagement and challenge in equal measure.

Our class is affectionately named after the inspirational role model, Jamaican-British businessman Levi Roots. A testament to resilience and perseverance, Levi Roots overcame 16 years of rejection before successfully launching his Reggae Reggae sauce, following an appearance on the 4th series of Dragons' Den. His message, "If a black Brixtonian Rastafarian can make it with just a sauce, then you can make it too," continues to inspire countless individuals, including our young learners.

I encourage open communication and collaboration between home and school to ensure the holistic development and well-being of your child and I look forward to working closely with you to support and empower your child academically, socially and emotionally.

It's easier to be you.
