Welcome to Motivated Monument class!

We were named after the Monument underground station. Next to the station you will find The Monument memorial, built between 1671- 1677 to commemorate the Great Fire of London. Its representation helps us to remember a part of the history of London, while also celebrating the comradery and resilience used when rebuilding the city. In Motivated Monument we aim to represent a community of learners who help support each other to learn, engage and grow.

Our classroom includes children who are hard- working, determined and respectful. We understand and recognise that we will face new challenges but will overcome them head on. Acknowledging our mistakes helps us to look back through our learning journey, taking pride in all our successful achievements.

Throughout the year we will be engaging and immersing ourselves in lots of fun topics. We will be learning about the jungle, flowers, the beach while also going back in time to discover more about Tudors and King Henry VIII. Year 2 will be a very busy year but with the excitement of all the new discoveries and explorations of our topics including our curriculum theme days - it's going to be great!

We always remember to be respectful and caring to everyone. We value the importance of recognising and celebrating all of our differences, because it represents how we are all unique with our own qualities of strength. We like to have fun while learning and cannot wait to share with you our learning journey.

The beautiful thing about learning is that nobody can take it away from you.
