Teacher's Comments

Welcome to Kingsley class, where we explore different ideas and learn something new every day. Our aim in Kingsley this year is to be an environment where the children feel safe, happy and welcomed when starting the school day.

Our class Kingsley is named after the famous explorer Mary Kingsley, who journeyed to Africa and discovered new places such as Gabon in Central Africa. Just like Mary Kingsley we will always ask questions, enjoy every adventure and take on new experiences.

In Year 1, we believe learning should be fun and exciting whilst taking risks and always trying our best. This year we will be diving into new projects such as the wonders of space, going back in time to revisit the dinosaurs and learning about animals that live on Earth today.

We understand that transitioning into Year 1 is a huge step so it is important to allow each child to adjust to the new year with support and understanding. We will not only support the child's learning but also through their wellbeing.
