Welcome to helpful Holmes Class.
In Holmes Class we are resilient and determined like our namesake Kelly Holmes. Our staff know that nursery is often children's first experience of being away from home and we work hard to create a warm, welcoming and safe environment for the children to grow, learn and play.
Each half term we introduce a new topic that we use to create lots of exciting cross-curricular learning. Every day we have adult-led sessions and activities coupled with plenty of opportunities for children to play and extend their learning independently. Our learning covers the 7 areas of the EYFS curriculum: Personal, social and emotional development (PSED), Communication and language (C&L), Physical development (PD), Literacy (Lit), Maths (M), Understanding of the world (UW) and Expressive arts and design (EAD)
Our class author is Eric Carle, who wrote such classics as 'The Hungry Caterpillar' and 'The Very Quiet Cricket'. His books are simple timeless stories with bright, eye catching illustrations that engage the children and inspire their curiosity and creativity.
We are excited to explore our fantastic themed days throughout the year. These include art, music, RE, geography and many more cross curricular areas of learning.
We strive to try our best and have fun every day.
