Teacher's Comments

Welcome to Energetic Embankment class! Our classroom is full of creativity, positivity and encouragement. Our namesake, the Embankment, is a road and river walk along the north bank of the River Thames in London. It is filled with fascinating historic sights such as Cleopatra's Needle and is known for its hustle and bustle. We aim to emulate this buzz in our classroom as we learn and explore together.

We understand how important Year 6 is for us and we will use our individuality to help us strive for the best. By listening thoughtfully and carefully collaborating, we will share ideas and develop the confidence to challenge and question opinions to make us critical learners.

Our classroom is filled with talent and skills that make us unique. By working together, we will combine our different strengths and experiences to create an environment in which we can all thrive and achieve our dreams.

This year our curriculum offers a range of creative, diverse learning experiences for us to dive into. Through our first topic 'Guilty or Not Guilty?' we will explore how crime and punishment has changed throughout different historical periods. Our journey will continue as we consider survival skills in 'I'm a Survivor', discuss and debate the concept of freedom in 'Let's Liberate' and develop our historical understanding of World War Two in 'Blasted Blitz'.

As we enter our final year at Singlegate, we look forward to working hard and playing hard, while making lifelong friends and memories.
