Celebration of Life Day for Mr Parsons

Thursday 8th September 2022

On Thursday 8th September 2022 we planned a special remembrance day to celebrate and think about Mr Parsons and all that he contributed to William Morris Primary School.

All children and staff came to school wearing blue and white to represent Mr Parsons' favourite football team, Chelsea. The day was spent reflecting on the role that Mr Parsons held in our school, as well as the impact that he had and how this makes us feel. We talked a lot about Mr Parsons building strong relationships with those he worked with and his passion for helping others.

All children and staff were asked to bring a donation of cakes to sell at the end of the day to raise funds for Cancer Research. We received an incredible abundance of beautifully baked and decorated cakes and raised an incredible £537.95 for Mr Parsons' chosen charity. Thank you to all of our families and staff who baked, donated and purchased cakes to support our fundraiser for Cancer Research.

Mrs Bull shared that our new Parsons' Pit Stops will provide an opportunity for connection, building relationships and time to talk in the playground for our Key Stage 1 and 2 children. These beautiful benches will provide a safe space for children to sit on who might need someone to talk to or someone to build a relationship with.

All children were then invited to write a message for Mr Parsons' family which will be included in a very special memory book for his family to keep, as a reminder of his time with us at William Morris.
