Welcome to Beckham Class!

Our class is named after David Beckham, whose success reflects the importance of determination, dedication and teamwork. From a young age, he worked towards his ambition of becoming a professional footballer and went on to build an international career. He has also supported children and families through his work with UNICEF.

In Beckham Class, we encourage children to show these same qualities by persevering, taking pride in their efforts and supporting one another. Children are encouraged to try new things, solve problems, learn from mistakes and become increasingly independent.

Reception is a busy and exciting year, with learning taking place through play, exploration, discussion and focused teaching. Children develop their early skills in phonics, Literacy, Mathematics and Communication and Language, alongside opportunities to investigate, create, build and explore.

Across the year, our learning will be shaped by a range of units including Where in the World?/All About Me, Autumn Adventures, Starry Starry Night, Mini beasts, Under the Sea and Summer Adventures. These themes will introduce children to new ideas, experiences and the wider world around them.

This year will be filled with new experiences, creativity, discovery and plenty of opportunities for the children to grow in confidence, independence and curiosity as learners.
