Teacher's Comments
Welcome to our Brilliant Balham classroom.
We are an enthusiastic and hard working group of children who take great pride in our learning.
Balham station is nestled in south west London in the Borough of Wandsworth. During the Second World War, Balham was one of many deep tube stations designated for use as a civilian air raid shelter. On the evening of 14th October 1940 it was heavy bombed.
Just like Balham station, we will build on our learning throughout the year and grow into a vibrant class. In Brilliant Balham, we will work together to support each other to be the best that we can be, welcoming challenges and supporting all to learn. We will remember to celebrate all friends' achievements and welcome differences with open hearts. With this attitude we will evolve into an exciting and ambitious haven of leaning.
This will be a busy year with many exciting projects. These projects include learning about Chocolate, The Ancient Greeks, The Stone Age, Volcanoes and Predators. We will immerse ourselves into our topics through exciting engage and express events.
Remember, Balham class are respectful and empathic and we love to learn! We believe that learning should be challenging and through challenge we will find reward and enjoyment. We have high expectations off all and always look to do our best, just like Matilda, there is always good to be found in the world, as long as you have the courage to look.
Don't forget to believe in yourself.
